New salary criteria highly skilled migrants 2019 announced

Earlier this week the new salary criteria for highly skilled migrants in 2019 were announced in the Dutch Government Gazette (Staatscourant).

From 1 January 2019 a highly skilled migrant needs to earn at least the following gross monthly salary, excluding 8% holiday allowance:

• Highly skilled migrants under 30 years of age: € 3.299 (2018 € 3.229)
• Highly skilled migrants aged 30 years and older: € 4.500 (2018 € 4.404)
• Highly skilled migrants following ‘orientation year highly educated persons’: € 2.364 (€ 2.314)

The new salary criteria are applicable to highly skilled migrants who start a new employment or need an extension of their residence permit in 2019.
