Temporary scheme for intermediaries: the placement fee

On December 15, 2014 by Dutch Umbrella Company

For all employment contracts that will come into effect no later than on 30 September 2016, intermediaries may apply for a placement fee after three (3) months of employment. This scheme is applicable provided the intermediary has helped a 50+ jobseeker find a paid job.

Placement fee, what is it?

The placement fee is a subsidy which intermediaries may apply for, provided they are helping jobseekers (+50 years) find a paid job. The rule is this: the longer the employee keeps his job with the very same intermediary, the higher the placement fee.

  • 3 months of employment equals a € 300 placement fee;
  • Follow-up application 6 months after the first working day of employment; € 700 additional placement fee;
  • Follow-up application 12 months after the first working day of employment; € 500 additional placement fee.

What requirements must intermediaries meet in order to qualify?

The following requirements apply as of 20 September 2014:

  • The intermediary has helped a jobseeker find a paid job;
  • The first working day was either on or after 1 October 2013;
  • The jobseeker receives unemployment benefits and was at least 50 years old on the first working day;
  • The jobseeker has worked for half the number of hours for which he received unemployment benefits. But at least 12 hours a week, for at least three (3) months;
  • The jobseeker has worked every month.

Apply for a placement fee?

Intermediaries who meet the requirements stated above can address the UWV to apply for the placement fee. All requests must be submitted to the UWV no later than 45 days after the end of each 3 months’ period.

If you meet the requirements above then you may apply for the placement fee here.
