The countdown has begun

After 43 years of being part of the European Union, the United Kingdom will leave definitely on the 29th of March 2019. 52% of the voters are in favour of the Brexit, which makes this a historical event. And nobody can foresee the effects to its full extent.

However, at least it is clear for British citizens in the Netherlands. The IND has listed all possible outcomes plus their effects on British people working and living in the Netherlands.

Actions to take according to the IND

If you have not already done this, you should register yourself with the Personal Records Database of the municipality where you live in. If you do, the Dutch government can get in touch with you if necessary. Apply for a DigiD, so you can easily submit an online application to the IND. If you already have a DigiD, but no SMS-verification, you should set this up via My DigiD.
